Congratulations to the Panama Canal Museum Cookbook committee for winning the 6th Annual Morris Press Cookbook 1st place award for 2005.  This award came with a $3,000 prize for the museum.  The criteria used by the judges to determine 1st place was the excellent artwork on the cover and dividers, the originality of the theme, the historical and family notes, the variety, thoroughness, clarity and overall appeal of the recipes and the success of sales.  The four professional food editors located throughout the United States judged the Panama Canal Cookbook NUMBER ONE from thousands of cookbooks submitted.  HOORAH!!  Great work team!!  A special thanks to committee members, Cissy Collins, Jerry Fields, Sarah Finkelstein, Catherine Goodrich, Sis (Paige) Medinger and Joey Zornes for all their hard work and long hours devoted to this successful project.  Thanks also are due to all those who contributed their favorite recipes and supported the project by purchasing the cookbooks.
